Worried about 33mm lining

Hi everyone.

I guess I'm looking for some reassurance. I had some scans and they showed an endometrial lining of 33mm. I have PCOS so there is also a large cyst. I left it far too late to see a doctor as I was scared - I've been bleeding near enough every day for over two years sometimes so heavy I can't leave the house. I have an assessment with a gynaecologist next week.

I'm not really sure why I'm posting.

  • Hi I'm in the same position as you had a ultrasound and showed 22mm endometrial lining I've been bleeding on and off for the last 5 years. Awaiting biopsy to see if it is I no how your feeling as I'm terrified of the outcome I'm only 30 with 2 children

  • Hello ladies any updates on these?

im 27 with a little girl and have just been told my lining thickness is 30mm I'm worried sick .

    awaiting biopsy

  • Hi Natalie im really sorry to hear what your going threw been in the same position as you so i understand what your going threw. Stay positive as there is other explanations dont think of the worse because i did that and it made me a nervous wreck. I was told a few years ago that i had a 22mm lining and enlarged uterus had ultrasounds and biopsy i was diagnosed with Adenomyosis its where the uterus lining gets thicker than usual can cause heavy periods bleeding inbetween and larger uterus doctor has put me on degestrol mini pill to thin uterus lining out and symtoms have disappeared since. Also was diagnosed with poly cystic ovary syndrome. Please remember endometrial cancer is very rare in woman younger than 50. Let me no outcome.  Sending hugs your way. Xxx

  • Forgot to mention my symptoms started at the age of 23 1 year after having my first baby never went doctors till years later. Xxx

  • Thankyou so much for your reply I cannot explain how helpful it is .

it's Incredibly hard because all the doctor seemed to mention at my scan was needing a Hysteroscopy to take a sample to be tested to rule out cancer because my measurement was double of what a "regular measurement" should be  and that's all I can think about . I asked her what the other reasons could be and she just seemed to dodge around the question .

I have really heavy periods and slight spotting when I think my ovulation is . I got referred to the gyno because I've had recurrent miscarriages since my daughter and then found this out at our appointment !

it's the waiting that makes it even harder

    xx

  • Its ok glad im good be of some help. Doctors was same with me thats all they went on about to me but i suppose they just want to rule out the most serious. Have you ever had a blood test to check hormone levels i had one done a again i was told i got high estrogen and low progesterone was told i had Endometrial hyperplasia threw other tests i had done also free fluid was found in uterus. High estrogen can cause endometrial thickening especially if progesterone is low them 2 hormones are supposed to balance each other could explain why your having recurrurent miscarriages. I wouldnt panic yet i no it's easier said than done but other causes are possible. Given your age id say endo cancer is low Xxx

  • I've had blood tests but she didn't really mention anything.

free fluid was found on my scan but again nothing mentioned. Just the 33mm lining

everything I've read seems to talk about hysterectomy and it's hard hearing that while ttc and only 27!

Like u say There's many other things I just need to try keep it together , my husband was with me at my appointment and he freaked out too and he never freaks out . Totally caught off guard xx

  • I understand how difficult it is to hold everything together but please Don't google things that what i did and i wish i hadnt. It will make it more stressful  Everything i read said cancer and hysterectomy. I had all these bad symtoms from the age of 23 its only been the last 2 years where its all better im 32 now. Try and think positive. When your appointment? Xxx

  • I'm on a waiting list for the Hysteroscopy & biopsy to be done under ga becaus I totally freaked out when they tried to do the Hysteroscopy at a normal appointment.

did they give you the option of the mini pill vs the coil? My doctors have mentioned the coil to me before but I really don't like the sound of that .

    xx

  • Was everything ok in the end? I have womb lining of 30mm had biopsy today and stressing out.
