Waiting for a diagnosis. Tumour/growth in lower back

Hi.. wasn't really sure where to turn with this one. I was a radiologist 3 days ago for an MRI and they have found what has been described as a 'nodule' half a cm big in my spinal cord. Haven't got a formal diagnosis yet but they think it could be something called Myxopapillary ependymoma. Reading about it it's fairly scary and while cancer isn't always present it hasn't been ruled out yet. I'm only 23 and have two young children... I can't help but feel negative about this. Could really do with some advice on how to stop worrying for the next two weeks while they run more tests.

thanks in advance x

  • I'm not a medic and had never heard of this. I see now that it is very rare. A horrible time for you waiting for further tests and a treatment plan. I wish you the very best during this time, and hope that it can be treated easily, and with complete success. Harry
