Severe Grade 3 abnormal smear results

Hello Ladies

I truly feel like i need to share with you my recent experience as this site helped me so much . I am 42 and not been for my smear in 10 years i started getting abnormal bleeding around 4 months ago . I went for my smear and it came back i was HPV posative and had high grade severe cells. The day after a letter came to go for a colposcopy which i had done yesterday i cant tell you how frigtened i was honestley i was petrified i literally shut myself off expecteing the worst. I got to my appoinment god knows how as i was being so mard and i was on my own due to the current situation with the carona virus. Anyway she had a look and said strait away she coudlnt see any cancer but i did have grade 3 cells she said she could take the bad cells away while i was there or i can go back to be honest i nearly said i will come back but from nowhere this strength came over me and i had it done. I am so glad as it didnt hurt they do have inject your cervix a few times but please believe me it does not hurt and they chat away to you to take your mind off what is going on i think its more fear of the thought of the needles going into your cervix but they are absolutley painless, She then done the Lietz treatment and i couldnt feel a thing just a bit of prodding. I had no pain afterwards and im back in work today feeling great and  feeling so proud of myself that i stayed and had it done as i think i would have felt ten times worse worrying that i had to go back and have the treatment done. I have to go back in six months to see if the cells have gone she did say she had managed to burn the bad cells away so fingers crossed the biopsy will come back clear and my next smear will be clear. I really wanted to say i know how stressful it is and how scared we get but having severe grade 3 results doesnt mean you have cancer it just means they have spotted changes and if you do get offered the treatment on the same day my advice would be brave to have it done i feel like a new women today i really hope this helps women in this situation x x x
