Lump on tonsil 2+years plus bowel issues

Hello I'm Michael new to the forums to kind of see if any of you guys can help, share your experiences or put my mind at ease.

I'm 30 a dad of 3 boys and a husband, I'm relatively fit I do manual labour for work so am always on my feet rushing about I'm classed as obese for my size my diet is not the best and I suffer from 'IBS'.

Well my issues all started in 2012 when I had bowel issues constant diarrhoea,Back pain and bloating. I ignored all the signs blamed my diet as I was 22 and thought its nothing sinister I'm only young. Fast forward to 2015 no change, now I'm a father and thought I need to get these things checked out. 2015 a colonoscopy happened 19 biopsies all came back normal couldn't swallow the camera so that was aborted as they refuse to put me to sleep for it. Nothing changed despite diatry changes nothing got better or worse. Stool results showed I had H-Pylori went on a course of Clamythramycine (not sure if spelled correct) and that was it. BMs (Bowel movements) still the same 2016 had an ultrasound of my abdomen all normal no issues. BMs still they same. 2017 had an MRI of my small bowel again all came back normal so I just accepted that I had IBS.

Now 2017/18 I discovered my right tonsil was swollen ignored it though because I have poor oral hygenine and suffer with acid reflux that it was irritation from that, When I wake up each morning I hock up a brown rusty coloured spit/phlegmn from my nasal area. Just recently I have got tight chest, paint in the breast bone, heart palpitations,Arm muscles sometimes feel lethargic, headache just above the nose and tingly skin. I am a worrier so I feel like the headache, lethargic arms & palpitations may be anxiety related. I went to the doctors they have seen the swelling and referred me for an appointment at the hospital in the next 2 weeks could this be cancer ? Could it be cancer of the bowel or GI tract that was missed and spread?.

2 factors to take into account here also.

1. I've had full bloods taken over the last few weeks all came back perfect to suspicious markets hit everything where it should be. ( this was before I went in with the lump)

2. My wife a few years back had HPV and had cancerous cells or polyps burnt away could I have transmitted this from oral foreplay? And would it turn into a cancer this quick and cause symptoms.

On the plus side I have not lost weight, dont feel fatigued or tired, the dr felt no swollen nodes on the neck & I've felt none elsewhere and I don't have difficuly swallowing although I do get dry mouth alot (which I put down  to reflux from IBS).

Any comments, insight would be appreciated sorry if this is riddled with spelling mistakes I'm normally very literate but yeah worry, anxiety the dreaded fear of what could be have my mind racing.

  • Hello Michael1990,

As I noticed you are new here on the forum I wanted to stop by to welcome you to Cancer Chat.

I'm sorry to hear about your issues and that you're understandably worried but I'm glad that you saw your doctor and have been referred to the hospital so they can investigate what is behind all of these symptoms.

In the meantime, I hope you hear from some of our members who have gone through the same experience, as chatting to those who can relate does seem to help.

I hope everything works out well for you, Michael1990, and once you know more, please come back and give us an update.

    With best wishes,

    Renata, Cancer Chat moderator
