Chronic constipation rectal bleeding ‍♀️ Cancer scared?

Hi, Hope you can try and make some sense of this as I am absolutely worried that it’s something serious, I’ve had chronic constipation since middle of July, as we just had some restrictions lifted from the covid lockdown, had to quit my job to stay at home to look after my 2 young daughters, which did cause a lot of stress, I’ve been losing blood on and off since then in the toilet after sometimes turning it red, after wiping also lots of mucus / discharge its every single time I go to the toilet now, couldn’t get to see a doctor till august and had finger examination but didn’t find anything, recently had bloods done and stool test and all came back normal they have booked me in next week for colonoscopy which I’m glad about so I can find out the problem, i had one 2 years ago for something similar but they didn’t find anything! So I know what to expect from the examination, After I have a bowel movement, I’m experiencing so much pressure from the anus area feeling like there is something in there like I haven’t finished going for a poop or it’s stuck in that pushing like I’m trying to go but I’m not, don’t have any tummy pain, some lower back but it’s not all the time, also keep getting siatica wondering if it’s linked sometimes get a numb bum, I’m starting to not want to eat cos I don’t want to go to the toilet I am having stool softeners and some little yellow tablets everyday to make me go easily and after feeling like my bums sticking out, sorry to be so out there but it’s the only way I can discribe what’s happening but it’s the blood and not knowing what it is, nearly fainted getting off the toilet the other day, I don’t feel I’ll at all I play football and run all this staring to get me down xxx

  • Hello Tinka1987x

I'm sorry to hear about the health problems that you've had over the past few months. It sounds positive that your tests have all come back with no cause for concern however it's understandable that you're feeling concerned.

Try to take each day at a time and remember that there could be a number of things, other than cancer, that could be causing your symptoms.

Hopefully your appointment next week will give you answers and some reassurance about the next steps in resolving the problems.

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you so much for the reply, I had the procedure done on the 10th of November and the surgeon found 2 internal hemmeroids and said he was positive that’s where the blood was coming from and that is what is causing me so many problems, i am now 4-5 weeks post now as I had them banded while I was there and I’m still losing blood same amount as before procedure and wondered if they could of missed something Doctors say I have to heal myself and it’s not healing been hospital and they sent me back to doctors no referral unsure what to do from here x
