Possible lymphoma? Need advice

He I'm a 27 year old male..

Since march 2019 I have had a higher than normal lymphocyte level.. Around 10k no lower than 7500

I have since then started with a massive amount of symptoms I can only see relating to lymphoma.

I have a constant ringing in my ears and fullness feeling behind my ear, I have also started to get itchy absolutely everywhere and I have been having regular headaches.. My fingers and arms feel tight like they are swelling but don't perticularly look swollen..

My worst symptom so far from whatever is making me feel this way is.. Near syncope.. Literally atleast 20-40 times a day I almost faint. They have just told me it's probably nothing.

I had bleeding of the nose last year which didn't stop for 3 days straight they still don't know why it was so severe I lost loads of blood in this time.

For the past 5 years my liver results have come back slightly raised gamma gt. Which indicates some sort of liver damage..

(not sure if this one is a symptom as I've only heard of cancers making people loose weight.. But I have gained alot of weight aswell over the past 3 years about 6 stone to be exact..

My doctors haven't really done anything to help me with all of this. They just keep redoing the test to check lymphocytes and liver.. Because its not got much worse they have done nothing. Should I push this further.. I hope so much that its nothing to worry about but if I search these symptoms they always come straight back to lymphoma.

  • Hi Tartankilt,

I'm sorry to read about the difficulties you're having at the moment. It's hard to advise on this as it's only really your doctor who can do this, and it sounds as if they aren't too concerned. The only thing I can suggest, if you continue to experience symptoms and you are worried, then to either revisit your GP and make sure you get any questions you have answered, or alternatively to ask for a second opinion from a different doctor.

Try to avoid looking things up online as this often provides irrelevant or outdated information and only tends to increase the worry.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Thankyou I will speak to my doctor again and yes they don't seem too worried even though I am.. Especially when they don't know why the lymphocyte levels are high.. But I agree reading up online has just made me 100x worse.  So thanks for the message and I shall ask my doctor and avoid go ogling
