Hi everyone,
Today I had a referral to the breast clinic and I'm a bit shocked. I'm 32 and have a kidney transplant, I'm no stranger to difficult health news, but I'm still feeling quite shaken.
I've noticed that over the past 2-3 months, my left breast has become 'thicker' and 'heavier' and has a light red mark on the underside. It sometimes itches or hurts. A new vein has appeared. I have tried not to freak out about it, but recently two people I know have very sadly received terminal cancer diagnoses and I thought, I can't leave this anymore. Went to the GP this AM to get it checked, thankfully they could do a proper examination.
The GP wasn't exactly worried, but she just wasn't sure. She said my left breast feels very 'glandular'. I don't really know what that means, but she wants me to go through the tests to be sure that it's nothing serious. Obviously I went to Dr Google and it immediately said inflammatory breast cancer, which scares the crap out of me.
I'm very concerned, having a chronic disease already, getting another diagnosis on top of that. I otherwise feel well so I am really hoping for a positive outcome, but I'm really concerned. Has anyone else had these kind of symptoms, and if so, what were your outcomes like?
