Hi All
I wanted to post about my recent experience to reassure others who may find themselves in a similar position.
I recently felt some discomfort within my breast that I have previously had BC in. Further inspection revealed a strange elastic band feeling and an obvious line/dent on the surface. Naturally I had concerns, my post cancer 3yr check was coming up so I waited (I don't recommend anyone doing this) to see if it went away. At my appt My oncologist didn't seem too concerned, and after a thorough examination sent me for a mammogram. It was very uncomfortable and despite trying to stay positive it seemed like the longest wait for the results.
Back to the oncologist. He informed me everything was good, he showed me the scan, pointing out the clips from my previous surgery then explained I had fibrous tissue which is completely benign. I know not many people on here have good news but I wanted to post something positive that not all breast changes mean bad news. I would still urge everyone to get things checked out by the professionals however. Stay safe everyone.
