Thyroid worry

Hello

I'm wondering if anyone could help me... I recently noticed 2 lumps either side of my thyroid I went to the GP and she agreeed there was definitely 2 lumps.
she came across positive and said they are probably cysts. However me overthinking thinks she just said that to be nice to me.
She referred me to go and have an ultra sound but that isn't for another 2 weeks. She also took my bloods at the surgery to determine if I have over or under active thyroid. Today my results for my bloods came back normal which is now really worrying me. If my bloods are normal is this more likely to mean I have thyroid cancer. Please could someone help me.
I can't eat, I can't sleep I'm so anxious.

  • Hello Dixiestar,

You did the right thing in getting those lumps looked at by your GP and rest assured that the GP did give you her professional opinion and she would never say that they are probably cysts just to be nice to you. It does sound actually like your GP has been very thorough as she ordered blood tests and an ultrasound. It is definitely a good thing when you are told that your bloods have come back normal. Now it's all just a waiting game for that important ultrasound. I know it's really hard but try to take one day at a time and not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be and avoid looking anything up on Google or it might make you worry even more. It won't be long now until you find out more. It might be worth mentioning to your doctor that you are struggling to sleep and eat because of the anxiety associated with the wait. I am sure they will have some good advice for you to help you cope in the coming days. Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine!
