No lumps but armpit pain?

Hello all,

I have no lumps, no changes in breasts etc. But I have pain in my armpit. It isn't there all the time, but I feel it throughout the day. Has anyone else had this? Is it just hormonal or could this be a sign of something else?

Thank you :)

  • Hey everyone. Found this thread yesterday while admitting enough is enough with this invisible ball in my armpit! Mine too isnt painful but I can always feel something is there. I actually had it checked 9years ago when it first started & was referred to breast clinic & all came back fine. The feeling has increased since then but everyone looks at me like im mad when I say i can feel something but not to touch. All im seeing lately is adverts of "if something doesnt feel right in your body get it checked out". So yesterday I called my doctors & was actually called back to come in right away. I was examined & she has found a lump quite deep in my armpit. So again been referred to breast clinic. She doesnt believe its anything serious, but go get the feeling checked out everyone. Im so annoyed i've left it for so long now.

  • How did you get on? Really hope you've got good news.

I went for the 6 week check up and the doctor felt under my armpit she wasn't worried, wasn't a thorough check though.
I'm still really worried it feels like a numbing feeling, i have noticed that it gets worse when I put on weight, when I'm working out/eating healthier it's less noticeable but lately has been constant numbing/ aching feeling.

I want to be checked properly but I feel like the Doctor won't take me seriously as she didn't fins a lump.

  • No that was a different lady.

  • I came back on here to look at my last comments.

So I got checked the GP said she couldn't feel a lump .. all good that was July/August at my babies 6 week check up, I didn't feel happy about this tbh had an instinct but life gets ahead of us doing it.

Now here I am .. I went to the GP who is new as I have a huge cyst on my left breast and it's infected all ok, she gives me a full breast examination and says she can feel a lump under my armpit said does it feel tender I said no.
I said all symptons previously, and she's sending me to breast clinic 17th Next Friday. She said please don't spend all week worrying as it can be a swollen lymph node due to have the infection on that side, this Doctor is like no other Iv ever had before she is honestly amazing, checks everything she explains everyone very carefully and the care is just well I at nearly 40 haven't had this kind of care in a GP appointment, Iv had 2 appointments with her now for different things and she was the same both times.
She said it's likely swollen lymph but it's better to be checked.

Going back to my 6 wk check up, the check she did wasn't the same she just felt around for like 20 seconds saod she can't feel anything, not saying she's not a good gp at all but there was a huge difference, and I'm worried it was missed.

I have the check up and now I'm so terrified, I didn't feel this lump and still can't, I feel so worried and don't know what to even think but I have this wait which feels like years away it's only 8 days!

Has anyone had this before? I don't want to worry anyone I know with it.

  • Hi
has one one had any news as I get a pain under my armpits as well. I cannot seem to find a lump but all ways feel a deep pain and burning

  • I will let you know Friday but from what my doctor said pain is the lymph nodes it's lumps that are the problem, just get checked and demand they search for a lump properly

  • Hello was just wondering how you're appointment went? I've been suffering with a dull ache in my armpit for some time now and have seen the gp twice but because there is no lump there they dont seem to be taking me seriously

  • Hi,

I went to the local breast clinic, I had a ultra sound with a consultant, he said it was a cyst and nothing to worry about. I think it's been there for a long time as I get this numb aching feeling all the time.

Get another appointment and say that this is bothering you and you want to checked out, your symptoms seem exactly like mine.

  • Hi there I have had the same thing no lumps but the pain in my armpit is throbbing at times comes and goes. But somthings it feeling like its burning

  • Hi all

Ive had the armpit/ breast pain for 10 days. Went to the Dr today he felt my armpit and left breast, said he felt very lumpy breast tissue. Referred me to the breast clinic. Is checking waiting times and will call me in the next few days to see how long I'll be waiting for the referral.

The pain is on my left side, no lump felt in my armpit but the pain is in my armpit, side of and under my breast, the pain can sometimes travel to my arm too.

Been taking painkillers for over a week they have made zero difference to the pain.
