I have the same symptoms, terrible breast pain on the left side and a sore nipple that throbs. I do not have any other physical symptoms but have also been referred to the breast clinic on the two week referral. It's very hard to switch off from the pain. Like you, I am feeling very anxious. Fingers crossed for us both.

Not yet, the referral was made on Monday. I have read other posts that describe this waiting as the very worst. But the doctor reassured me that it will be swift, which I hope is the same for you. 

Oh I hope you don't have to wait much longer. 
 

google so isn't my friend at the moment. Although trying to focus on the positive statistics for people of my age (30) and other reasons for pain! 

I have been doing the same, I even went to A&E the pain was so bad. I have been given painkillers but they are not making a difference. 
 

There are many positives, noticeably your age, no physical symptoms. I am older at 43 and sadly have a family history of breast cancer. It's very difficult to focus on other things but I do wish you well and hope you also hear back about your referral quickly.

I had the same referral 2 weeks ago and had my appointment today. I had a mammogram and scan which showed no concerns, everyone was lovely and very reassuring. I have been  reading this forum on and off for the last 2 weeks and mainly felt terrified so wanted to post to say to you and anyone else waiting those long 2 weeks good luck and I am thinking about you xxx

just want to message due to having gone through this myself a few months back.

i was experiencing pain from October in my right breast. It was mostly on the outer side. I was also having itchy nipples. 
i finally went to the GP to sort it in February, where she examined me, found a lump on where the pain was so i was referred. Unfortunately i did have to wait longer than antisipated due to not being high risk (age (im 23), no previous history in family etc), and ofcourse COVID.

anyway, when i did go, i was asked questions such as previous medical history, contraception (the pill) and how long id been on it, family history, how long my painf had been there, if i could feel a lump myself etc. 
 

he then examined me and compared both breasts, and then told me i just had lumpy breast hahah. He advised however for the pain to use voltarol and gave me a leaflet on causes for pain - going from stress, hormones, pregnancy etc.

i do put it down to stress as it was a new job back then, new house etc and i even notice now it comes when i'm most stress.

you could in the meantime maybe try voltarol to see if it helps.

i hope this also helps you mentally as i went months worried sick, and given that stress causes it it was just a vicous cycle.

I had similar issue, my gp was concerned by my swollen right breast and pain.  So I asked Dr Google within 5 minutes I'd self diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer and was planning my end of days!

Horrific. Then I spoke to a friendly advisor at Breast Cancer now and she totally put my mind at ease. 

Then I spoke to a family member who warned me of google. Google is a search engine and the search returns focus very much on previous key word searches. As we search for symptoms we do so with an element of confirmation bias, google is software and not human,  so takes you through learnt pathways of previous searches. Hence why all the scary unreassuring stuff comes up first. - so don't google. Your feeding it for the next poor soul searching for medical answers xx 

Then I spoke to a cancer nurse and looked at the referral pathway for urgent care. Cancer cells if present take months to grow,.   So 2.weeks is not going to make a difference in terms of risk.( this really reassured me as my imagination just had thought of C spreading in my body! )  and is a safe timeframe. Cancer if present and felt in lump will have likely taken years to get to lump size. 

Most referrals to breast clinic on urgent care are no concerns.  Those that are there is good treatments.

Many many people have breast pain, pain is a very unlikely symptom of breast cancer in most cases. There are lots and lots of reasons for pain, bad bras, pulled chest wall, injury from lifting bags, children or other activities .

The wait is hard, but I was assured that it's more of a psychological crisis than a medical one due to growth of cancer if at all present. 

I also advise, once you get your appointment- call the breast clinic and ask that you be considered for any cancellations and you can attend at anytime.

I saw GP Monday- got appointment Tuesday for the 9th of November. I called the breast clinic to request I be considered if cancellation and as it turned out, a cancellation became available.  Seen today...had mammogram and all clear, despite all symptoms.a night crying and worried sick .....its likely an injury to breast wall.
