Lumps on neck lymphoma worries

Hi everyone,

Really I just wanted to get my current story out there as I've been using these chats to help me cope :)

So around 10 months ago my fiancé noticed a lump on my neck just under my jaw below my ear, no bigger than a pea. I put it out of my mind and when the whole COVID situation happened I hadn't even thought about it. The past few months I was developing loss of appetite, shortness of breath, blood rushing in ear and most recently severe exhaustion. When I felt the lump on my neck had gotten bigger i decided to go ahead and go to the gp.

Here's where we found 3-4 lumps with the original lump being the most suspicious. For reference my first lump is hard and immovable. The other few I have are also hard irregular and 2 are movable. The gp sent me for a chest X-ray the next day and a heamotolgy appointment within the space of 3 days. I just want to say here everyone has been incredible and everything has happened so fast.

Hematology ordered a complete blood count and complete bloods that day (6 vials eek) I fainted after the bloods, dramatic as always. Hematology has now sent me for an urgent ultrasound scan of my neck to be done this Tuesday :)

Tonight I found another large lump now on the right side of my neck. (I have 2-3 on the left side and one under my chin) Staying positive though!

I'm only 20 and I worry for my family and fiancé more than myself.

  • Hi Megan

Saw specialist, I have 1 tonsil larger than other and the other is more dense than normal, so its tonsils out within 2 weeks then the results fairly soon after, within the week. He doesn't know what it is till the tonsils are out and tested! Back to waiting now but I'm still optimistic-ish.  X

  • I'm so glad they're getting everything done fast Christine! :)

It's great that they aren't messing around and just getting them taken out, I really hope there's nothing serious and they manage to solve everything, fingers abs toes crossed!

Thankyou so much for letting me know been thinking of you <3

  • An update for you too!

I hope everything is going well with the tosillectomy.

My bloods came back clear too so I was discharged. But my doctor is slightly concerned because I've now been having headaches and migraines for a week straight :( seems pretty endless and my lymph nodes are not going down.

hopefully we both get our good news very soon!

  • Hi there

Sounds like you have a good doctor looking after you, may the migraines brought on by the worry you've had over past weeks?

I'm home recuperating and being spoiled!  Two weeks till histology results but doc can't see anything nasty in his opinion so I'm hoping its good news!

    Speak soon

    Christine

  • Hi Christine,

im so so glad it's looking good

ive just spent a couple of weeks recuperating and I'm feeling a lot better must have been the stress!

Still have my lumps but I'm hoping they will go down in the next few months. It's strange it feels as if they're bigger now than they were but should be okay.

    keep me posted <3
