Lump under left armpit and soreness.

Hi, I have been sent by my gp for urgant tests as I have a swelling under left armpit this seems to be growing and then going down but not fully and making my arm go numb, im 32 and everyone says oh it's not likely because of your age, I feel like I'm in a really scary limbo waiting and not sure what to do or think.

My question is I dont have a hard lump does it necessarily need to be hard to be cancer?

    Hi I have similar issues atm I have found a lump under my armpit I found it Wednesday night, went straight to GP Thursday and she thinks it's a swollen lymph node and has given me antibiotics. I've got to go back in 2 weeks if it's not any better and she will refer me to the breast clinic. I'm 33 34 in April. I'm absolutely petrified, I can't eat can't sleep not sure how I'm supposed to wait 2 weeks!

    Can I ask what kind of size your lump is? Mine seems to be growing quite quickly and arm keeps going dead which is odd.

     

    I'm 32 so yes I know how your feeling, also mu auntie has a very agressive breast cancer around 5 or 6 years ago.

    My doctor hasn't seen my lump just went by what I said on the phone.

    Hi Zoe, 

    Mine feels about the size of a grape, it's moves around easily. It is quite deep in arm pit, I can't feel it when I lay down.

    I think I'm going to call the GP again Monday and asked to be referred. The thought of waiting 2 weeks will just drive me crazy!

    My mind is playing huge tricks on me just trying to distract myself but so difficult. I have an 8 year old son so trying to be normal around him I guess is keeping me going.

    I want to be referred for tests the sooner the better. I have a feeling they will tell me to wait longer though. 

    I'm sorry to hear about your Aunty, I lost my dad 12 years ago to pancreatic cancer, it was a dreadful time. I have huge health anxiety since loosing dad so this has almost tipped me over the edge!

    I feel very alone, my hubby is amazing but is so chilled and thinks I'm panicking too much which I probably am but it can't be helped!

    When are you going for your tests?

    Mine is a swelling the size of an egg. Umm my test is on 2nd November. 

    Sorry to hear about your dad. In happy to chat whenever you need. 

    My partner is quite worried I can tell. 

    I'm just holding it together at the moment but not many people know.
