Symptoms of bone cancer

Hello,

I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer May last year. Clear margins, no node involvement, lumpectomy and radiotherapy. I've had a niggling pain in my rib from before my diagnosis. Had two xrays, various blood tests. Saw consultant last week and I admitted I'm stressed about it, he said if I wanted he could arrange a bone scan which I'm having on 2nd November. He examined me and said he can't feel anything.
I've got myself so stressed about this now telling myself he wouldn't send me for an expensive procedure unless he thought I needed it.
every ache and pain stresses me out, although my rib only hurts in one small spot when I press on it. I'm so scared I've got secondary breast cancer, please talk to me

  • Hello Ploppy,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. It won't be long now until you have your bone scan. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
