Age 30 with blood in stool for 8 weeks WORRIED

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody has been in a similar a position and has any reassurance prior to my upcoming colonoscopy.

My only symptom is bright red blood with slight mucus daily. This has been occurring for 8 weeks now.

I pass once maybe twice a day but this is normal for me.
The stool consistency varies. Some formed, some not. The blood currently follows the stool.

I have no pain or weight loss and my blood tests were all ok.
My FIT test is positive and my sample showed that my inflammatory levels were slightly raised.

It has been a battle to be referred urgently because of my age but now the FIT is positive I should hear within two weeks.

Thanks x

  • Hello Virtualhugz1,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your colonoscopy. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to find out more.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have had similar symptoms and been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
