Left breast, 4 symptoms and scared. What else could it be!!!

Left breast only no symptoms in right breast

1. I have what I shall call lump A and lump B

Lump A appears is visible on skin to swell up for 2 weeks around my cycle and shrink and become pretty squishy but has two firmer balls in it is the best way I can describe it. Fairly close to nipple.

Lump B which is fairly close to lump A but not visible and a little deeper into the breast. I would say it's not round and I can't really feel the shape of it but the surface feels bumpy. Like I can feel dents in the mass.

2. Letdown sensation only in left breast. By letdown I mean the feeling of when you are breastfeeding and you know when you pull your breast out it starts spraying milk from being to full I guess. Yet it doesn't feel hard like it's full of milk, just that sensation of about to spray milk. Nothing ever sprays out.

3. Nipple discharge. Only when I press on the breast or when hand expressing the area I get a clearish yellow fluid. Doctor called this Serous Fluid or Serous Color? It comes out like water with the yellowish hue, reminds me of pee, but it's a little sticky once between my fingers.

4. Indentation , it's on the bottom side of my breast not very defined but my husband could see it after I showed him photos of breast puckering/dent/dimple? And he pointed to the area when I raised my arms without me telling him where I saw it. The line is kind of diagonal  like across not up and down. It also looks more like a million tiny stretch marks and not an actual indentation. Also when I lay down I see a hole or I guess we can call it a crater below my nipple right next to the lumps. If I simply put my arm up I notice it sagging in right there and if I press on the area it caves in making the sagging turn more into a crater.

Ive had an appointment with a Specialist Surgeon who specializes in Breast Cancer and he is sending me for an Ultrasound, no previous imaging done yet, because I'm in my 30s and he doesn't want to start with a mammogram due to my age. The ultrasound is a whole two weeks away from today. He didn't tell me much other than the lumps are both near 6oclock position, that he wanted me to come back a few days after my ultrasound, and that if it's a mass he wants to remove but if they are both just cysts they will stay where they are.

I post this because I am nervous but no matter the outcome I will also post the results. If I'm able to find anyone who has symptoms like mine the results are either not posted or they have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma , which happens to be the most common type of cancer  or Invasive Lobual Carcinoma  or Ductal Carcinoma in Stu

added note, moveability of lumps

1. Lump A actually doesn't feel moveable at all but it is super close to the skin

2. Lump B it moves a little to the left and right but not up. Also when placing 2 fingers holding the breast tissue in place the lump feels no longer moveable or it's moveability is extremely limited that I can't tell if it's actually moving at all.

  • Hello Mysterygirl89

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been dealing with some concerns about your breast health. It's understandable that you want to know what is going on. I think that most of our members here will agree that waiting for tests and results can be a particularly difficult time.

It's not uncommon for women to have lumpy breasts and it may be that these lumps are benign such as a fibroadenoma. Try to keep in mind that the majority of women who attend breast clinic do not go on to be diagnosed with cancer.
Hopefully the ultrasound will give a clear view of what is going on and the Consultant will be able to offer you some reassurance at your appointment.

If you'd like to speak to one of our nurses in the meantime you're very welcome to give them a call. I'm sure they will be able to offer some advice and support. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Lesion 1:

Dedicated ultrasound in the area of palpable abnormality at approximate 6 o'clock subareolar

position shows a 1.0 x 0.5 x 1.0 cm well demarcated slightly heterogeneous moderately vascular

mass that appears to be within the duct as there is adjacent fluid surrounding this mass.

DDX: Intraductal papilloma, inspissated intraductal debris. Though cannot be entirely excluded, DCIS

    Lesion 2:

Dedicated ultrasound of the area of palpable abnormality at 6:00, 2 cm from the nipple shows a

    0.5 x 0 3 x 0.5 oval, shorter than tall nonvascular mostly fluid-filled cystic structure with a

small foci of peripheral solid hypoechogenicity.

DDX: Small Cyst with debris, intraductal inspissated debris

    IMPRESSION:

BI-RADS Category 4A: Suspicious Abnormality - finding needing intervention with a low suspicion

     for malignancy

  • What does this mean Mystery girl? What happens next?

  • It means I have a biopsy just to make sure nothing is cancer

  • Biopsy was done 3 days ago and still nothing yet but I don't expect anything to be told to me until my post biopsy appointment on Monday.
