Hi,

My mum went to her GP yesterday as she has found  lump in her breast and discomfort under her arm, she is an extremely young 68 yr old.

She now has a 2 week wait to see the consultant.  I can get her in to see a private consultant wihtin 2 days,  however she is not sure it is worth it because we believe that the NHS will still carry out the same checks as the private consultation.

Has anyone got any advice/experience on this? 

She is going out of her mind and is extremely negative about the whole situation, I feel that if she goes for the private appoikntment at least she would be doing something.  I'm really out of my depth with this!!
