On a 2 week referal

Currently booked in for an ultasound on monday and awaiting latest blood tests checking for ca125 markers and crp and liver tests. Really scared not even 40 been suffering with repeated vomiting and the runs and night sweats on and off for months and heavy periods that repeatedly flood to the point of needing incontenence pants. Drs have been dismissive due to covid finally got a blood test to check iron levels  and now i have a lump in my lower tummy

Finally got seen by a dr after dr called to say i wasnt aneamic but there was inflamation markers which i pointed out might be the lump in my tummy to which they suggested i come in for a face to face appointment.  Now on a 2 week referal want to be able to take partner for support but been told i got to go alone. Already lost 1 family member to the big c under the age of 40 and 3 more in their late 50s early 60s scared its going to be me next hand hold needed.

  • Welcome to the forum Shelah although I'm sorry to read what you've been going through. It sounds like it's been very tough but I'm glad you're finally in the system and they're taking your symptoms more seriously.

Waiting for appointments and results is always a challenging time but you're not alone as our community know what this is like and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

In the meantime, I wanted to offer you a virtual hand to hold and let you know we're here for you.

Fingers crossed all goes well on Monday.

    Kind regards,

  • Thanks for your reply Steph.

Latest bloods came back with "no further action", receptionist gave no indication if anything was high or low or simply not changed from test 2 weeks earlier. Frustrating when you want to know what the figures are or mean, so fingers crossed lack of information  is good news.

Ultrasound on Monday, mass is still very much there so not magically dissappeared and still being randomingly sick and waking in the night drenched fingers crossed its just an early menopause!

    Thanks

    Shelah
