Worried about reccurance of uterine cancer

I had stage 1a uterine cancer 2 years ago and had a full hysterectomy plus fallopian tubes and ovaries. No futher treatment.

I have been experiencing stomach pain for some time which has been put down to (potentially) adhiesions and I was put on a waiting list for a laparoscopy. This was based on 2 calls instead of face to face folow us with the consultant due to COVID.

However I have since then  experienced 2 instances of bleeding. I called and have now seen the consultant. He says he could see nothing on the pelvic exam which I think is good? Anyway he has sent me for an MRI. Just waiting fot the date.

I am trying to tell myself that my chances of reccurance are really low but, I can't stop myself worrying and I know if it is back it will be worse.

I am sure there are plenty of you out there who get exactly how I feel.

  • Hello Allie

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some health concerns. It's natural given your history that you're feeling concerned and I think many of our members here will understand that.

It's good to hear that your were able to see the Consultant and that he's referred you for some further tests to try and establish what is going on for you. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the MRI and the results will give the answers needed.

Sometimes it can help to talk to someone about your fears and concerns and so I wonder if you'd like to have a chat with one of our nurses. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040 and I'm sure they would be able to offer some support and advice.

Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

I am trying not to spend all my time worrying but it is really difficult.

Thank you so much for the number and the suggestion of calling. I think I will do that.

    Cheers
