Post menopausal bleeding

Hi

i have been and continuing to be on a roll a coaster over the last 10 days. I am 60 post menopausal and had a bleed due to Covid I couldn’t see a doctor but had a phone call from a nurse she had me in the doctors surgery within the hour examined me and said she was referring me to hospital as I had suspected cervical cancers!  I was so shocked. I had an appointment 7 days later for an external and internal scans. Within 24 hours I had a text to say I needed a hysterscopy. I am due to have this in 5 days. I haven’t seen or spoken to a doctor. My doctors surgery haven’t had the scan results back.

I have always had clear smear results and had a “lost” Mirena coil removed last year and the consultant said everything looked absolutely normal as he examined me including ovaries. I was concerned I had a thick cream discharge fir several years. It must be said that I mentioned the discharge many times but no one seemed concerned as I was on HRT and that increases secretations.

I am beside myself with worry.

has anyone else had this

thanks

  • Welcome to the forum Vanessa although I'm sorry for the reason you're joining us.

I'm sure some of our members who have had similar symptoms will offer their support and advice to you soon but if you'd like to find out more about the hysteroscopy whilst you wait, just click here.

I hope the hysteroscopy goes well and the results bring good news when the time comes.
