Advice for 2 ovarian cysts

Hello, I'm going to try and keep this as brief as possible.

Back in July I was told I have 2 ovarian cysts, a 7cm on my left and a 3cm on my right. I've been told I've been on an urgent/emergency waiting list since then but I haven't even had a face-to-face appointment since then.

I'm in massive amounts of pain and exhausted all of the time. Last week I ended up in A&E because I was in so much pain I threw up, they still sent me home and said I'd get my appointment brought forward, and then when I rang up because I hadn't heard from anyone, they said they'd forgotten to arrange my appointment and I'd be put on the waiting list again.

I had my work annual performance review and it was negative due to how tired and disoriented I've been - I love my job and I work as hard as I can but the amount of stress I've been under and pain I'm in has left me underperforming and I acknowledge that. I tried to explain this but they've suggested I 'explore other avenues'. I already struggle with my mental health but I feel like it's all getting too much for me.

I live alone, I have a mortgage to pay and I feel completely and utterly defeated. Does anyone have any practical advice? I'm sorry this is such a miserable post, but I haven't been able to talk to anyone in a long time because of the lockdown rules.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I appreciate it.

  • Hi sorry to hear about your pain but the only thing I can suggest  is that you keep ringing the appointments line every day until they get you an appointment your happy with to get these removed. I've had cysts & polyps removed for the last 5 years  finally my gynaecology team agreed to give me a hysterectomy which was performed as a day case by key hole. My recovery was was really quick & I have no more pain or heavy periods xxx
