So I had my first smear test in December 2018 I was 24 4 months till turning 25. It came back with abnormalities so I was sent for a colposcopy which I had not long after and they took a biopsy. 6 weeks of waiting and my results came back HPV Positive with low grade abrnormal cells CIN 1. I was told I'd be called for a follow up colposcopy a year later. A year later approaches but I was pregnant with my 2nd little boy so the follow up colposcopy was postponed until 3 months after giving birth so would be due August 2020 time. I went to the doctors for my 6 week postnatal check and she booked me in for my follow up colposcopy for 6 weeks time. When I arrived there I was told I didn't need a colposcopy just a smear test so they went ahead and did my smear. 2 weeks later I received a phone call and was told they have found High/severe abnormal cells with HPV so I would need a colposcopy, waited 3 weeks for that appointment. In the meantime I received a letter and the words on the letter read this is not cancer but pre cancerous cells that will most likely turn into cancer if left untreated. Anyway I Went to the hospital for my colposcopy and was told that I would most likely be having the LLETZ treatment there and then. But was then told it would be to dangerous to do due to my vaginal walls being to close together, then told me I would need to be put to sleep to have it done so would be booked for an appointment for a few weeks time. So the doctors took 2 biopsies and sent them off and told me I'd receive my results in 2 weeks time whilst waiting for my appointment to be put to sleep. I am absolutely terrified of what the outcome is going to be as I have 2 beautiful boys an 8 year old and a 4 month old! If it said on the letter this is not cancer just pre cancerous cells that will turn into cancer if left untreated then why were 2 biopsies sent off? Has anyone else been in the same position and what was the outcome?
