Worried about lymphoma

Hello. I'm a 19 year old woman. I'm quite worried and would like some advice. I've had lumps on my neck for about 7-9 months and more have came. I decided to go to the doctors 2 weeks ago and he sent me for an X-ray (clear), ultrasound (enlarged lymph nodes - 0.8mm and enlarged spleen). The doctor has urgently referred me to the ENT but because of COVID I'm not sure when it's going to be. He also says he has sent for a biopsy because I'm having night sweats, fatigue, weight loss and other symptoms. He sent me for bloods which came back clear (CBC and ESR) but I'm still concerned it might be hodgkins/non hodgkins lymphoma or even leukaemia. Can anyone share their advice, story or personal experience or even what they think it might be? I'm really concerned and I hate waiting.

thank you.

  • HI Collegestudent and welcome to the forum.

Although no-one here can say what your symptoms mean, our members will understand what you're going through and hopefully some of them will pop by soon to offer their support and advice.

Fingers crossed you're not waiting too long to be seen by ENT and the results of that and your biopsy will bring good news.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Collegestudent73,

I'm currently in the same boat, albeit with slightly different symptoms. Mine are lymph nodes around neck and jaw, painful ears and the last few days I've been experiencing a degree of dizziness though I'm unsure if it's unrelated.

I too was referred to an ENT with a fast referral, also known as a two week wait (as that is the time schedule they have to fit you in within). I had mine within 9 days. They booked me in for an MRI with contrast and that took 9 days too. I'm currently waiting to hear back about that.

If you're anything like me, stay away from google, the words lymph nodes only return certain results. I'd wait for your ENT appointment.

I hope this helps, and that you get an answer soon
