Hi, how did you get on with your GP? I have exactly the same issue. Positive hpv, normal cells but bleeding. Im worried and my GP has referred me on as urgent as when she swabbed for infection that made me bleed also.

I am in the same boat. 2 years ago had cervical erosion which didn't have treatment for it cleared up without the need. Had a smear test 2 weeks ago and on friday found out intested positive for hpv but no abnormal cells.  Sunday night then woke up at 3am feeling sick went to toilet and had bloody discharge and thought was getting my period but nothing came of it. Now wondering what the hell is going on and if my GP will think I am nuts. I also got diagnosed with thrush back in Sept but it took them.5 weeks to do any test to diagnose it.

Did anyone have a positive outcome after going to GP? 

I had a positive experience, I went for a colposcopy and she said the HPV wouldn't cause bleeding, my cervix showed signs of the HPV but nothing sinister. She thinks the bleeding is hormone related or because my skin is thin around the cervix. I have to have yearly smears to keep an eye on things.

So did they just send you for a colposcopy when it happened to you? I'm just worried they'll think its a coincidence and fob me off like they have in the past

Yeah after I had the bleeding after sex and positive hpv. Gp did an urgent referral for colposcopy.
