Awaiting base of tongue biopsy

Hi Ive joined here today as I can't stop overthinking & anxious about having a biopsy under GA as daycase on the 28th October! I am a nurse by background so I'm probably

the worst patient possible trying to diagnose myself daily.

It started last year December when I saw a ENT consultant following a scan on my thyroid area as I was feeling cold, tired & had a small raised area appeared near my thyroid. That swelling went within 2 weeks & scan just showed a Goiter & nodules nothing to worry about. The consultant past a camera up my nose to look at my throat & didn't say anything other than see in April 2020 as a follow up !
April OPA cancelled due to covid & I got a call in August asking me to attend a follow up which I did and consultant looked via a camera again up my nose & throat and said my base of tongue was swollen on the left had side & not symmetrical , he requested a MRI of neck ! Results came back September 2020 stating looked like my tonsils were swollen ! ( I had these removed 40 years ago ) I told consultant this and looked again with camera & confirmed didn't look like my tonsil either & had now requested to have a biopsy to the base of my tongue to be on the safe side ! I've got ear pain daily but nothing paracetamol can't resolve daily ! I somethings get a burning sensation in my Throat ! It doesn't hurt to swollow food or fluids, no chocking  , no signs of Lumps in my neck throat area ! I'm just working myself up so much now as I'm a single parents with 2 sons at home & thinking the worst. Has anyone else had a base of tongue biopsy & it was nothing to worry about & how was your recovery ? Sorry for the long post
