Picking my results up on Thursday.....scared stiff

Hi

I'm new on this forum.

I have a lump in my left breast and my lymph node under my left arm is raised...Ihave had all the tests and go in Thursday with hubby to collect results. I felt the doctors whole demeanour changed when I had to go back in to see her after having a mammogram and biopsy....am I imagining it I dont know. I  have googled the lump with White dots (that's what the doctor told me) and it all reads very scarey. I know some of you must have the same experience as me and know how scared I am feeling right now. I dont have any other symptoms ....help

  • Hi Missy-j

Sorry you find yourself here. No one on here will be able to tell whether you have a cancerous lump or not, only biopsies can do that. Although your description sounds like calcifications but you'll know soon enough.  The waiting is awful and all one can do is try to keep busy and stay off Dr Google as it never helps.

Hopefully, it turns out to be benign. We are always here for a chat and let us know how you get on x

  • Hi there ...

I know how scary this time is ... it's the big question mark staring at us ... and all the "what ifs" go round your head ...

But the facts are 8.5 out of 10 they are harmless .. I had 4 call backs from mamorgrams over the years... that were all clear ... some I'd convinced my self were cancer .. and although the last one was positive.. that's about right on the odds .. and what I found was ... cancer treatments have come a long way...

We hear the sad outcomes on the t.v ... but there's lots of us still standing after that diagnosis...

So try and do anything to keep busy ... and try not to panic... you just may be o.k ... and no amount of panic will change the outcome... so remember the odds .. and remember there's many of us travelled through here after breast cancer was diagnosed and lots gone back to their life post cancer...

So hold on in there .. and let us know how you go .. so we can hopefully give you a big high 5 ... or a hand to help you through ... so fingers crossed ... chrissie x

  • Thankyou so much fir your reply...it means alot. I feel better this morning and more positive so I'm getting on with my day but thankyou for your support and will come back Thursday x

  • Thankyou for your worldly words...it means alot to just hear them.

  • Hi MissyJ, sorry to hear that. One thing that I think is important is that knowing there are lots of diet/lifestyle changes one can make to lower risk of cancer, including breast. Everyone knows about smoking and lung cancer but less so about all the other things one can do.

    All the best.
