Complex Ovarian Cyst - 18 Months

Hi there guys, wonder if anybody could lend some advice!
I am a 31 year old lady who had my first baby a year ago. 18 months ago on my first scan they discovered a hemorragic ovarian cyst and said it would go with the pregnancy. Fast forward 18 months i have suffered with severe diarreah & chronic stomach pain & bloating along with fatigue. The gp did an ultrasound and found a 33mm x 22mm complex cyst on the SAME ovary.

GP wants to discuss this with me tomorrow but i am worried as to why this hasnt gone. I dont think she is even aware its been there for 18 Months.

what would be the next step? And should i push for a referral? I have a family history of endo uterine cancer & worried as i have my one year old son.

  • Hello babyunicornlove,

Welcome to Cancer Chat! I just wanted to drop by and check with you how things went with your GP? I think it would be a good idea to mention your family history to your doctor and to explain that this cyst has been there for 18 months, that it was first detected on your first baby scan and that it never went away. By now you will have spoken to your GP and got a clearer idea as to whether a referral has been made. I hope the conversation with the GP was helpful and that you now know what the next steps will be.

    Keeping everything crossed for you!

    Best wishes,

  • Thankyou so much for your reply. The GP has ordered a CA125 test due Tuesday. I am so worried. My son is one years old & him being without me is my biggest fear.

I am trying to remain positive but very frightened

  • Thank you so much for the link. Never heard of them & will check it out.
I am so so worried. My biggest fear when I became a mom was for him to loose me & be without his mom. I have literally just lost my young dad months ago & having to also face this horrible time of waiting. Im at the edge :(

But thank you so much for your help

big hugs to you too xx
