Can you help

Hi I hope you can help,

I'm in my early 30s 2 months ago I had a blood test that showed my iron and hymaglobin levels were at 4,

My doctor put my on a course of iron tablets which I'm taking my blood test also showed up ca199 thst was higher than it should be on 3 blood tests.

I have in the last 6/7 weeks had ct scan and endoscopy and colonoscopy where a number of biopsies were taken in two different areas.

So far I've not been written to from the hospital with anything official is that normal after 5 weeks ? Should I get something in writting from them as I also have gyno issues going on and the hospital is very good to get back to me in writing.

The doctor from  What she can see says I have stomach lesions and some of the biopsy results show inglamation but nothing yet officially in writting from hospital or what happens next as getting a little concerned. I want to know if there is anything I can do to help myself whilst at the same time I don't want to bother and keep chasing the doctors as I know they are so very very busy.

  • Hello SF2020

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with some health problems that have needed further investigations. It's understandable that you're concerned and I know that most of our members here will agree that this period of waiting for results can be particularly difficult.

Given that it's been over a month since your last tests were carried out and you've not had any contact from the hospital I don't think it's unreasonable to get in touch with your GP or the Consultant secretary to enquire about the next steps.

I hope that you have some news soon that gives you some reassurance.

    Best wishes,
