Vulva Lumps

I wondered if someone could help me with some lumps that have developed on my vulva as there's a few and all seem to be different. I'm not sure whether to be concerned. The nurse keeps prescribing me antibiotics but they don't work!

I have lichen sclerosis and genial herpes so even at the best of times, down there is burning! However...

Last year, I developed a large (3cm across and 2cm upwards) very hard white lump on the outer labia. This one is painless and I suspect it is probably just a cyst. No harm done other than it looks pretty terrible.

In the last 6 months, I have developed 4 other lumps. One is under the skin (no head) on my right side outer labia / perineal area. This is painful when I lightly squeeze and I would say is a rectangular shape by the feel of it, about 2cm long.

The second is in a similar area on the left hand side and feel like two small, very hard lumps- again, under the skin.

The third has come up recently. It is a pure white mole like lump on the inner, lower labia close to my vagina. It's itchy as hell.

The forth is a small, hard lump right on the curve of my right side outer labia. This one is painless, if a little itchy.

I don't get flares of herpes (that I'm aware of- it's hard to tell with the lichen sclerosis what is causing the burning and itching) but I do feel like I am in increasing discomfort down there.

Any ideas anyone? I'm trying not to get ahead of myself or be dramatic but the reason I am posting here is because I know that lichen sclerosis does increase chances of vulva cancer and I wanted to get some views on whether I should try to see the GP?

Thank you

  • Welcome to the forum Henno although I'm sorry about the lumps you've found.

If you're worried then do try and see your GP as they'll be in the best position to advise on this. They'll also be able to answer any questions you have and hopefully give you some peace of mind.

I hope you receive some advice from our members soon but in the meantime I just thought I'd share some information we have on how to get the most out of your GP appointment.

I hope this helps and you're able to find out more about the lumps soon.

    Kind regards,
