Referrals take different times depending upon where you live. What I can say is that your referral doesn't seem to fall into the time period of an urgent referral. 

I live in Wales and the timeline for an urgent referral is 3 weeks. However mine took 5 due to covid.

England is 2 weeks but some hospitals will take a bit longer because of covid.

Contact 6-8 weeks before an appointment is not urgent. Did your GP mention an urgent referral? If your GP wasn't overly concerned and has done a general referral to be on the safe side then I wouldn't worry about it. If you were expecting an urgent referral then telephone your surgery and question it.

Hi , I'm also from Wales. The gp said I'd be seen within two weeks , as I have quite a few symptoms . I think I'll phone the gp on Monday morning to find out what's going on! Xx

Yes I think you should. Just to clarify. My GP advised that if I hadn't heard anything in 3 weeks then I should phone the surgery secretary. I hope you get it sorted.

I live in the uk .I waited just under 3 weeks to get seen by the breast clinic 6 -8 weeks seems like a long time . I would phone up

Yes I'm going to phone the GP up first thing Monday , hopefully I can get it sorted out! X

I can't t have my benign  lump which is over 4cm  and painful removed yet because of covid . Also I didnt see a doctor I had a  telephone appointment and got referred  .It is like the nhs and gps is only looking after people with covid and everything is left. Hopefully you can get it sorted out sooner . 

Yes I completely agree , COVID seems to have taken over the nhs and a lot of people just seem to get left behind . It's not good enough! I don't think anyone with any signs of breast cancer should have to wait! But unfortunately it happens! I really hope you can get your lump sorted out soon , it must be painful. 

I am getting pain in another part of my breast and under my armpit so I am going to ring the doctors again.  And it really is painful 

Bless you . I've had the same thing over the last week , like a shooting pain in my left breast and armpit. Yes phone the GP again , I'm going to do the same thing tomorrow morning! Really hope you get something sorted . 

That the same thing I have been getting . Painkiller are no use . I really want it sorting as it is uncomfortable
