    Hi Raq,

Welcome to our forum, although I'm sorry to hear why you've joined us.

I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer and a number of false alarms in the past 11 years, so I can fully empathise with how you are feeling just now. This is a terrible stage and, no doubt you are thinking the worse, despite your lump being so small. Don't worry if you are, as we nearly all do, but fortunately this seldom turns out to be the case.

Try to avoid looking things up on the Internet at present, as you don't know whether or not there is anything untoward there yet and, you will only scare yourself by doing this. Besides, much of the information there is poorly researched, out of date or incorrect. Once you get a diagnosis, there is time enough to look up things on a reputable site like Macmillan or Cancer Research, but leave it until you are sure that there is something there that you need to investigate.

This two week wait always seems like forever, but try to keep yourself busy to distract yourself from the wait. You are likely to have another worrying wait after your appointment too, as you may need to wait another 1-2 weeks for the results of any tests.

Some people have naturally lumpy breasts and not all lumps signify cancer. In fact only 1 person in every 8 who attend the breast clinic end up with a cancer diagnosis. I am hoping and praying that you'll be one of the lucky ones!

Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
