Lump moveable or immobile

Hi all I saw my Gp on Wednesday afternoon for a lump I suddenly found the previous evening. She felt it and said it was pea sized but wasn't too concerned because it was quite moveable. The morning after the GP receptionist called me to say I had an appointment at the breast clinic in just under 2 weeks. Is it normal to be so quick? I'm 41 by the way. Also dr Google (why oh why did I consult him) is sending me mixed answers about if a lump is movable or not. Is there anyone here that can tell me are cancerous lumps always immobile or can they be moveable? As you can imagine, just like everyone waiting, I'm incredibly scared and panicky. Thank you everyone!

  • Hi Shelley,

Although I don't know about the movement of lumps etc I can say that being asked to be seen with 2 weeks is normal and a national standard as part of the "2 week wait" scheme. So please don't worry, being seen quickly is a positive!

    Wishing you the best!
