Swollen axillary node

Hi all! I've  been reading threads on this forum for a while and have decided to post as I  am slowly losing my mind

So I found a painful lump under my armpit two months ago. The pain went but the lump stayed. In the past two weeks the lump started being very painful again, so the gp did an urgent referral and a week later (today) I had an examination, an ultrasound and a core needle biopsy. The dr confirmed it wasn't  a cyst and is saying that I  will find out in a week what is causing the swelling!

I have no other possible symptoms of cancer, no breast lumps, nothing!

I'm  wondering if anyone has been through the same? I'm  convinced  its going to be the worst

I was practically in hysterics when they were doing to biopsy!

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently needed a biopsy at breast clinic. I think that lots of our members here will understand how scary it can be and just how difficult this period of waiting for results can be.
Try to keep in mind that the large majority of women who attend breast clinic don't go on to be diagnosed with cancer.

Sometimes it can help to talk things through and I wonder if you might want to give our nurses a call for a chat. I'm sure that they will be able to offer you some advice and support. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
