Day one - found lump, referred to breast clinic

This morning has been a roller coaster. Couple of days ago I found a lump.... was it real  ? Maybe not...maybe it wont be there tomorrow ( monday) crack on..keep your mind occupied..dont think about it. Monday...still there.... and now looking in the mirror theres a crease in the skin...ish... This isnt going to go away is it...  Tuesday...... right Stop being a coward..it might not be the big C.... but do you honestly think a) it's going to go away on it's own? b) you can carry on knowing it's there? ...

Wednesday: 9am emailed the surgery on their askmygp app.

Typed in " I've found a lump in my breast " ..cue tears...

Couple of hours pass while I try and concentrate on nothing much.

Call from clinician at the surgery..lots of questions about where it is, how big it is, does it move, is it attached, any redness, any discharge.

Referred to breast clinic. Usually two weeks but because of COVID...they are a bit behind ..could be 3 weeks.... . Be prepared they will probably do an ultra sound scan and a biopsy there and then.

Im not concerned about what they do ...liar... but the

.sooner the better. I just need to know what this is!! And hope it isnt what I think it is. No family history of BC..... everything crossed.

  • Hi tasha. I'm waiting for my 1st clinic appointment, so I'm in the dark atm. I'm 52. Your welcome to chip in. Like what's next said...... We're all in it together xxx

  • Hi I am in exactly the same position at the moment my test is on 2nd nov and have a lump under armpit and numbness in arm, breat is really sore has been for weeks.

Good luck with your appointment finger crossed x

  • Letter arrived this morning. Have been googling medical jargon.

So...and I quote: there was, a 15mm lump in the upper outer quadrant, clinically suspicious, with an impression of minor dimpling on the overlying skin. No other palpable abnormality on either side and no axilliary or superclavicular lymphadenopathy.

Mammogram showed a 45mm lonulayed high density mass, which on ultrasound corresponded with a 39mm x 30mm solid mass which was subjected to a biopsy.  The axilliary lymph nodes had normal morphology.

Results of biopsy to be discussed on Tuesday.

At least its not spread to the lymph nodes from what I can make out. Which is a massive relief .

Onwards to the plan of getting this little fecker gone.

    Much love

  • Hi plantmad

Well you're in the right place. We are all at some stage in this process. Not long until the 2nd. Even though it feels like its ages away. Keep your chin up and feel free to spill how you feel. We are here...always.

    Much love

  • Hi what's next,

OK, so you've got some sort of clue then. Good news about the lymph nodes!   Where is the lump? Mine is just above the aurola (if that's how you spell it)

You never know, results may be benign!

    Hi plantmad,

Your welcome to join in the chat, your most welcome!

  • Hi

It's on the outside of my right boob about halfway up. Only noticed it initially when the inside of my right arm caught it.

  • Hi,

hope it's ok to jump on

I found a lump in my breast a couple of months ago.  GP said nothing to worry about.

few months later still here and breast is sore, burning feeling.   Insisted on referral and appointment in a week.

under my arm Is tender, and may feel swollen (can't tell if it is or if that's my Mind playing tricks) and neck is kinda aching today.

could all be totally unrelated but I'm going to drive myself crazy.  I know I can't do anything until the appointment but anxiety through the roof.

    anyone had similar symptoms?

    thanks

  • Hi anxiously

    Welcome to the chat.

We've all got different symptoms it seems.

But well done you for insisting on a referral. Keep us in the loop, we're all at different stages too.

  • How's everyone feeling today?

My lump has started to feel quite tender to touch now. I initially thought it was my seat belt aggravating it as I'm in and out the car all day. I hope I get my appointment very soon or I shall be back on the phone! Mind you, it's not helping that I'm due my period in a week or so and lately my breasts become quite tender anyway. Oh the Joya of being a woman! Might crack open a bottle of wine and say *** it all!
