Hi, first time posting here. Had a breast lump biopsy on Monday.I have now been asked to go back on 15th October and I'm completely terrified - it feels like such a long time to wait.
If the lump were benign would I be notified beforehand?

Hi,
Waiting for results or appointments is an agonising time for everyone. I was told I would have to wait 2 weeks but the Macmillan nurse phoned me with my results after only a week. They were not what I wanted to hear but I didn't have to wait.
All hospitals work differently and you may or may not have to wait the full 2 weeks. In the meantime you should try and continue as normal. Distract yourself when you start to dwell on it. Don't worry yourself unnecessarily. Hopefully it will be ok.

Thank you so much for replying. Am trying to carry on but can't seem to concentrate on anything. Thankfully work are being amazing and biscuits seem to be helping too!!
Kind of expecting the worse as the wonderful Dr who did the biopsy told me what he saw, but did also say that these lumps could be benign too (felt that was a bit of reassurance)
Can't believe the rollar-coster of emotions that I'm going through with no facts to base them on!
I hope that you are on the road to recovery and thank you again x
I was told a week to 10 days. Got results in a week, feels like the world is spinning and your caught up. Try to relax laugh when you can and it will come before you know it. Remember during Covid take a notebook or ask to record so you get everything clear in your head.
Hi! I feel your pain. I had a biopsy done today and have an appointment booked for next week. I cannot seem to concentrate on anything but the situation. It's driving me insane
Hopefully all will be okay with you x
Did you feel pain after the biopsy? If so, for how many days? I'm finding it extremely uncomfortable and painkillers are not helping.
Did the doctors tell you what they suspected. When I had mine they say it was probably benign which it was.
I felt some pain for a few days. Have you got anything you like to do to take your mind off the results?
I think I must be really lucky as I felt nothing during the biopsy and haven't had any pain at all since.
i literally can't concentrate on anything. I go from being angry that I need to wait for 2 weeks, to crying at how I'm going to tell my kids, to convincing myself that it's all ok- my poor husband is being wonderful but doesn't know how ill
be from minute to minute!!
fingers crossed that your results are all clear
Wonderful dr who did the biopsy told be that the lump is dense with worrying irregular edges. He did stress that these lumps could also be benign. I'm sure he gave me other information too but to be honest I was in such shock I don't remember.
I would be happy one minute then a mess the next so the way you are feeling is understandable.it is a scary thing to go through . I hope your biopsy results come back clear.
Well I have work to go to, but I called sick past two days as all I wanted to do is sleep (I sleep a lot when stressed). I'm working tomorrow but my anxiety is going on overload. I cannot think about anything else no matter what! I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a breakdown at work tomorrow, but I won't know until I try. I'm probably not making any sense
