Dejavu - waiting for Hysteroscopy biopsy results- worrying

Hi anyone

I  had a Hysteroscopy on Friday to remove and replace a mislocated coil which had its own very painful difficulties as during procedure I learned I had a heart shaped womb so that was interesting but also she asked if she could take a biopsy...stupidly I didn’t ask why and now I’m panicking.

Quick bit of background - I was diagnosed with breast cancer in june (yes 2020 is going so well so far )and currently undergoing treating (all treatable curable) but during investigations on the ct scan my coil was in wrong place hence getting it removed. I haven’t had any bleeding symptoms which I know is main symptom of womb cancer so I’m probably being silly but I hope in circumstance that’s understandable.

how long have people’s results been taking for biopsies?

Do you think if I rang gynae suite they would tell me why they took biopsies?

also has anyone had a womb cancer diagnosis without abnormal bleeding

Sorry to ramble on ...you think being my 2nd lot of biopsies in less then 4 months I would have learned to ask more questions but apparently not

thanks vikki x

  • Hi Vikki,

It certainly sounds like you've been through a lot this year. It's natural at the time to not think of asking more questions and realising this afterwards.

You should get your results within 2-3 weeks but this may of course vary.

If you'd like to talk anything through with our nurses, who may be able to advise, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

Otherwise I'm sure you could ring gynae to ask and also to ask when to expect results if you're unsure.

I hope you're able to find out more soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
