Hi all, 

how are you? 

I had a 2 week urgent referral Friday just gone after having a scan showing endometrial lining if 23.5mm (at the mid point of my cycle)

i had a quick biopsy taken and the Consulatnt wants me to have a Hysteroscopy within 14 days. 

I have three questions, 

1) is it best to have a General or local Anaesthetic?

2) is the Marena coil really effective? 

3) can I opt for a hysterectomy without having (I’m hoping this is the case anyway) without a confirmed diagnosis?

Im 45, in peri menopause. I have heavy painful week long periods but regular as clockwork. I haven’t had any hormones pumped into me with contraception for over a decade and I really feel anxious about it all. 

Nobody i I know has been through this kind of cancer/situation and I’m like a rabbit in headlights to be honest.
