Waiting for appointment

Hi in 2018 I had an abnormal smear and had to go to Gynaecology to have the cells burnt out, I had a smear 6 months later which was ok.  Over the last month when I had sex immediately after I started bleeding (I have a coil so don't have periods).  I have been to the GP who have taken swabs and she said she could not see anything but has referred me on a Two Week Wait Cancer Pathway up to gynaecology again.  I am so scared I have cancer my mum had cervical cancer when she was in her early 30's I am 48 this year.  Did anyone else have just this symptom and turned out to be cervical cancer ???

    I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your appointment. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to find out more.

    I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. 

    I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you. 

    Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.
