enlarged lymph node in neck

Hiya,

I've had an enlarged lymph node in my neck for around 7+ months now. Its hard, painless & unmoveable and a bit under my right earlobe, next to my jaw. I visited my doctor when i first noticed it, and they told me to come back in a month if it was still there, and i was so busy and after the pandemic began i just didnt have the time to go back - but it is still here, it feels a little bit more prominent than it did at the beginning, but still is only around 1cm diameter, but grows and shrinks throughout the day.

I've finally booked a doctors appointment but stupidly fell down a googling rabbit hole and am feeling a bit anxious. Was wondering if anyone has gone through the same thing as me?thank you

  • Hello amma302,

As I sure you know, when you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers on an online forum, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor. Try to focus your mind on other things and I hope your upcoming appointment goes ok. It might be useful to write down any questions you have beforehand.

    Best wishes,
