Anyone have cancer despite being told it’s not?

I am awaiting a phone call this morning with results from my FNA last week. I have a tiny lump in my breast. I am 25 and breastfeeding.

Basically, at the breast clinic, the consultant was completely not concerned and assured me it wasn't cancer, due to the size, my age and lack of family history.

However the radiographer seemed more concerned when doing the ultrasound. Concerned enough to do a biopsy. Ended up doing just a FNA on consultants advise due to the fact I'm breastfeeding.

Obviously the consultant reaction has reassured me but I don't want to get my hopes up. Has anyone been sure it's not cancer and told very low chance, yet been diagnosed?

thanks

  • Good luck Mumof2under2, I'm not a medic, but know your chances of it being cancer are really low. Being young, and being a mother, are both factors in your favour.  Normal to be on tenterhooks, though, while waiting for your FNA results. Wishing you all the very best. xx Harry
