Lump in breast

Hi,

I visited my GP today as over the weekend i found a prominent lump in my breast on my chest (if that makes sense).

The GP found it straight away and im worried. He said with lumps this size we do not take any chances and therefore i would need to have tripe breast screening within 2 weeks. I am worried about my 2 young children. I am also worried about the tests, have always worried myself about mammograms even though i have never had one.

Any advice greatly appreciated. Trying not to google but its almost impossible.

Thank You x

Strange thing happened. I was seen by doctor on Wednesday late morning. Referred and said would be up to 2 weeks. Received letter in the post the next day confirming my appointment was 13 days later. However, that afternoon was lucky enough to get a call saying they had a cancellation for the following day. I was nervous but pleased i wouldn't have to wait so long now to find out what this lump was.

So i went to the appointment. The doctor came in and examined me. He then said "your breasts are fine its a lobule youre feeling", gave me a leaflet and i was on my way. Now, i know this man is a pro and he does this every day. I was so pleased nothing was wrong but i felt the appointment was so rushed. I was literally in the room maybe 4 minutes, and i was also concerned because the GP said it would be atleast an ultrasound.

Has anyone found this happen to them?
