Hi I'd really appreciate your views.
I was woken by pain in my right breast on Saturday morning. I was sleeping on my front and thought maybe I had just slept awkwardly. I felt my breast and could feel a large lump directly under my nipple. I went to look in the mirror and was shocked to see that the lump was clearly visible and my nipple had turned completely to the right :neutralI called 111 later that morning and they booked me an appointment in our local urgent care department.
I was seen by a GP who examined both breasts, my armpits and my neck.
He said he suspected it was an infection prescribed antibiotics but referred me to the breast clinic just to be sure.
I'm currently waiting to hear from the hospital appointment an appointment in the next 2 weeks.
The lump is less painful, it doesn't cause me pain if I lay on my front but it is uncomfortable.
I have to make myself look at it daily but I'm frightened to look. I checked tonight in the shower at my nipple looks a bit straighter now but the lump appears the same size.
The lump is quite firm, oval shaped about 1.5 -2 cms and moves a bit.
I'm 50, not yet gone through the menopause but I suspect my hormones are preparing for it!
I best not leave out that I have breast implants (bit embarrassed now but it seemed a good idea 15 years ago!) Never had issues with them but I worry now that they will cause difficulty with a getting a clear mammogram. The lump does however feel like it is just under the skin on my nipple and not behind the implant.
Sorry for the long post:blush:
Has anyone had anything similar? It just appeared overnight but I assume it was there before but just not obvious.
Any advice would be very much appreciated x x
