Are there ever bad internal scans?

Hi,

Not sure if it's ok to ask this but after a GP app a few weeks ago, initially for pelvic/back pain, nausea and abnormal bleeding, I was referred to the hospital for an ultrasound, I had the ultrasound and the internal ultrasound yesterday morning and the sonographer just said she would speak to the consultants as she wanted me back in for another scan. She wouldn't say any more than that. During the exam she didn't say anything about not being able to see clearly or anything like that, she just kept clicking and scanning.  Do I need to be worried?

  • Hi Kate87,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. It's hard to advise on this as unfortunately the only thing to really do is wait until the results are in with the doctor/consultant, and then you can speak to them to find out more. It's never easy while waiting for results and I'm sure being asked in for another scan is a little unsettling - but hopefully you will get results before too long.

In the meantime try not to assume anything and perhaps try to keep busy to keep your mind off things.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
