Worried and waiting cervical screen

Hi,

I'm really sorry but I gotta spill it, I'm getting so terrified just waiting around.

I'm worried that the worst will happen with cervical screening test I got on Fri. They aren't doing them routinely at my GP but as I had some odd symptoms they have agreed and I'm totally freaking out already and can't seem to calm down.

Have implant for almost a year, it just seems strange that suddenly it would wreck havoc, my understanding is that it should calm down by now. But started bleeding between periods, just seems I'm having few days to a week and then spotting/bleeding of some sort. If I have sex, I bleed and get cramps and I generally seem to get pains in lower back and stomach.

Just seems a never ending cycle of pain and bleeding and I really don't feel too confident with this one at all but 4-6 weeks just seems ages. I was told regardless of the result I may want to speak to GP and so I'm trying to wait for the results so all of the information is present but I'm really worried.

Not even sure why I'm posting

  • As I noticed you are new here and your post hasn't got any replies I wanted to stop by to welcome you to Cancer Chat, cocaonib.

I'm sorry to hear about the discomfort you're feeling and that you're, understandably, concerned about what may be behind your symptoms.

It's difficult for us to say what could be the reason behind all these cramps and pain, the best you could do is to speak to your medical team so I'm glad to hear you initiated the process already.

Hopefully some of our forum members will be along shortly to share their experiences with you but until then if you think speaking to someone medically trained over the phone may help, our cancer nurses are available on this phone number 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

And once you know more, please come back to give us an update, we'll be thinking of you.

    Best wishes,

    Renata, Cancer Chat Moderator
