Going for a colposcopy

Hello everyone.

I have received an urgent colposcopy appointment, which is for today, it has been given to me within a week. Here's my back story. What I'm wondering is if anybody has had the same set of symptoms and was diagnosed with cervical cancer, because this is the last thing I thought of.

So July 2019 I had a late miscarriage and my beautiful baby boy Angel was born. I heammoraghed, almost died and was rushed to emergency surgery. Since the miscarriage I have had very irregular bleeding (periods?) sometimes 38, 25,42  days between bleeding, sometimes constant bleeding, sometimes 14 or 10 days between bleeding, the flow was also irregular, from needing to change a pad twice every hour to not needing to change it all day. I started to get a descended stomach, which is permanent, and permanent uterine cramps, that goes right round to my back, nausea, lots of flatulence, and belching, slight loss of appetite, and despite the constant uterine cramps, I have not bled for 3 months now, I have constant watery discharge. The pain is often debilitating and I can not move. I have had a pelvic ultrasound and my womb and ovaries are looking fine. To be honest I put it down to my body getting back to normal after the miscarriage, but that has been over a year now. I had a smear taken a week ago.

  • Hi I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage and your problems

I just wondered if you have had a test to see if any infection is present it may be worthwhile to speak with your practice nurse

As the symptoms you described don't seem right

I hope you get it sorted

    take care
