Hi,  I recently had my smear results and it has come back HPV Positive no cell changes and I have to have another Smear in 12 months.

I am concerned as i have been with my husband for 14 years and never had another sexual partner in all that time.  Is this something they have just started to test for? as I had a smear 3 years ago and it was all clear.

Obvoiusly I am worried I have this and I am also worried why this has only just shown now.  I have read and it says normally the body clears this up within 2 years so is this something i have come into contact with in the last 2 years and got from my partner? Or is this something I could of had many years ago and my body is just not clearing it. 

This is a confusing one as I just don't know how i could of only got this now unless my partner has cheated which I honestly can't see him doing.

Sorry for the rant but I am obviously worried that I have a high risk strain and assume if I had it all them years it woukd of started making some xhanges to my cervix by now.

Worried and confused.  Any Advice appreciated.
