Endometrial cancer

Hey everyone I'm 23 I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and I just learned about the risks of ovarian/breast/endometrial cancer. It says I am 6x more likely to get endometrial cancer! This has absolutely terrified me. I have only had 2 periods so far this year because of covid (I can't get back to my uni GP for Provera meds to induce a bleed) I am worried that I could already have it but just not have symptoms.

Do you always bleed with endometrial cancer? I don't have periods or bleeding so does this mean that I wouldn't bleed even if I had it? So then how would I know if I did? Sorry if this is not the right place but I'm just so worried and scared.

Thank you!

  • Hi jenflower1,

While I'm not able to advise on this, it might be worth having a look through the relevant section of our website about this, to see if this helps.

Otherwise, it's best to discuss this with your GP when you can - even if you can't see them in person, you can arrange a phone appointment. If they suggest it's needed, you can then visit a GP who is more local to you.

Wishing you all the best and I hope you're able to find out more soon,
