Hi all im really scared i have two faint bars on two of my nails they are like a light grey, and everything im reading online isnt good if anyone can give me some adive id really apreciate it
The advice from members on the forum is to see your GP. If they are only doing telephone consultations they will ask you to email photos of your nails so that they can determine if you need to be referred to a dermatologist or, if it's a fungal infection, prescribe a treatment. Could it be trauma? Have you banged your nails recently?
It's very, very unlikely to be anything serious. Subungual melanoma only accounts for 5% of melanoma cases, 4% of these patients are dark skinned (African, Asian & Oriental). Also, it usually only affects one nail, so your GP will probably find it's an easily treatable condition.
