Hi,
I have been seen at the breast clinic this afternoon, had a good examination by the nurse who suggested that the pain I have been feeling was probably down to costrochondritis, she couldn't feel any lumps or bumps and was not concerned about the "dent" but as I am 44 said that just to be sure she would send me for a mammogram.
So feeling quite relieved I had my mammogram and waited to be told that I could go home as there was nothing abnormal. To my surprise I was called in to the ultrasound room where the consultant said that they had seen a tiny lump 13mm but not in the place I have been having pain. She said that she doesn't think it's anything nasty but I need a biopsy to be sure. She also mentioned that I have an inflamed lymph node...
I am in total shock, from being told it's nothing to being booked in for a biopsy for next Thursday in a matter of minutes. I am now worried sick it's breast cancer.
Has anyone else had this where they found a lump but it was somewhere different to the initial area you went in to have investigated?
Gayle
