Oesophagus problem

Hello everyone

Im 40 years old. I have had reflux for around 10 years. Diagnosed with a hiatus hernia around the same time.

Lately I have excruciating pain under my breast bone especially after eating and lying down on my back.

Sensation of food getting stuck in my throat.

My gp has sent me for urgent referral for endoscopy.

Im absolutely terrified.

Hi.
I'm not a doctor and can't give medical advice. But, I am sure there are a number of different causes why you have the symptoms you have and the scope will help to find out what the problem may be and then they can quickly work to resolve it. I had to undergo treatment last year for cancer of the oesophagus and please don't think I'm suggesting this is it. However, if it is anything like that, it sounds like the GP is doing what is needed and quickly and you will get the best possible treatment. It's not easy, but try to stay as calm and positive as possible. Its been 1 year since I finished my treatment and everything has worked.

Thank u so much for replying.
I am so scared .
In already battling a different condition. I cant cope with anymore bad news.
Trying to stay positive.
Im in alot of pain after i eat of drink.
Any suggestions to help?
Can I ask what symptoms u had prior to diagnosis?
